French state visit update
Buckingham Palace has shared details about the upcoming state visit by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron.
The three-day visit, from 8 to 10 July, will take place at Windsor Castle, and will involve a carriage procession, ceremonial welcome, a lunch and a state banquet.
The Prince and Princess of Wales will have a major role during the state visit.
Summer plans
Like thousands of children across the UK, the Prince and Princess of Wales's kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will soon have the school holidays to look forward to.

The royal youngsters were last seen publicly as they celebrated Trooping the Colour to mark the King's official birthday in London last month.
Why is the state visit being held in Windsor?
Good question! Traditionally, state visits take place at Buckingham Palace, with the ceremonial elements taking place at Horse Guards Parade down The Mall.
